Position Description:

The Department of Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour (PNB) at McMaster University invites applications for a one-year Contractually Limited Appointment (CLA) at the rank of Assistant Professor starting on or after August 15, 2024.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Psychology at the time of appointment with academic or professional experience in Developmental psychology and social, personality, abnormal, adolescent, and positive psychology.

Applicants should have a demonstrated record of teaching excellence at the undergraduate level.  The duties will involve teaching a range of courses in the PNB programs, including courses in Inferential Statistics and Research Methods (PNB 3XE3); Social Diversity (PNB 4E03); Seminar in Applied Psychology (HUMBEHV 4HC3); Human Learning and Cognition (PSYCH 2H03); Descriptive Statistics and Research Methods (PNB 2XE3); Attitudes and Persuasion (PSYCH 3CB3), or others.

Administrative service and student mentorship in the Department are also expected, in addition to participation in curriculum development in the PNB programs. There is no expectation that the candidate will develop an independent laboratory research program, but interest in pedagogical research and student supervision is encouraged.
