Bishop’s University is a primarily undergraduate institution with a strong emphasis on dynamic and effective teaching, experiential learning, and research and knowledge mobilization. Located in the beautiful Eastern Townships just southeast of Montreal, our riverside campus has a growing and vibrant research culture, cohesive community, small class sizes, collegial faculty and staff, and is rated first in the country on student satisfaction.

We welcome applicants who are committed to upholding the values of equity, diversity, and inclusion and who will assist us in expanding our vision for diversity and inclusion. We encourage applications from members of groups that have been historically disadvantaged and marginalized, including Indigenous peoples, visible and ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities, women and 2SLGBTQIA+. Candidates who anticipate needing accommodation for any part of the process may contact Human Resources at [email protected]. In accordance with Canadian immigration requirements, priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, but all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.

Application packages, including a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of research achievements and future objectives, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and the names and contact information for at least three (3) people available to provide letters of reference, must be sent by email as one PDF file to Dr. Alex Miltsov [email protected]. Candidates are also invited to share any lived or professional experience that may contribute to the Criminology position within that PDF file. Bishop’s University recognizes that some candidates may have experienced non-traditional, varying career paths or interruptions. Candidates are invited to share any relevant information about their experience and/or interruptions to allow for a fair assessment of their application. Please submit your application by May 21st. We will begin considering applications when we receive them. Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.

Land Acknowledgement

Bishop’s University is located on the unceded traditional lands of the Abenaki people in what is now known as the Eastern Townships region. Meeting and working in this privileged location is a constant reminder of the need for continued conversations about the importance of decolonization and reconciliation, not just as abstract concepts, but as difficult ongoing processes to be worked on.
