Position Details

The Department of Health Sciences and Human Performance within the College of Natural Health Sciences at The University of Tampa invites applicants for a full-time tenure-track position in Human Performance at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in August 2023.

The Department of Health Sciences and Human Performance seeks a qualified and motivated faculty member with expertise in Exercise Science with an emphasis on fitness, wellness, and coaching. In addition to teaching in the Human Performance major, opportunities to teach in our graduate program in Exercise and Nutrition Science may exist.  Candidates with scholarly research and activities that result in peer-reviewed outcomes are required.  Research interests that match the scope of Health Sciences and Human Performance are preferred

Responsibilities for this position will include a teaching load of 12 credit/contact hours per semester at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  The candidate is expected to engage in scholarly activity, advise/mentor students, and participate in service to the department, college, University, and broader community.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in a Health Sciences and Human Performance-related discipline by August 2023.

The ideal candidate for this position will have expertise and experience teaching various Health Sciences and Human Performance courses. Courses may include but are not limited to fitness-related courses, motor learning, biostatistics, and sport activities such as soccer, volleyball, and/or other sports activity courses. Additional experience or strong promise in teaching cutting-edge technologies in Health Sciences and Human Performance is desirable. The position will be required to teach introductory and upper-level courses for the undergraduate major, along with assisting with classes in the graduate program.  Intersession teaching may be expected at additional compensation.
