| Position Summary: | The Department of Human Development and Family Studies, College of Human Environmental Science at The University of Alabama, seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor tenure-track appointment. Sought are applicants with a promising record of research and with the qualifications to contribute to one or more of our graduate and undergraduate programs in Human Development and Family Studies (Adolescence and Youth Development, Child Life, Family Life Education and Advocacy), Addiction and Recovery Studies, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Early Childhood Education. Likewise, the person will contribute to the diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives of the department, college, and university. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a robust scholarly research program with external support; teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses; advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students; and engage in professional service at the campus, community, state, and/or national level. |
| Ad Text: | Preferred qualifications include: 1. A doctorate in Human Development and Family Studies, Prevention Science, Developmental Science, Public Health, Psychology, or a related field; 2. Evidence of scholarly work, including a strong research record, professional publications/presentations and/or participation in grant submissions or success at grant funding; 3. Strong interpersonal skills, including effective oral and written communication skills; 4. Teaching experience in higher education. |
