Position:FacultyLocation:ViennaStatus:Full-timeUnit:E-mail:Application deadline date:June 1, 2024Starting date :September 1, 2024The Department of Philosophy at CEU plans to appoint an Assistant Professor as part of the FWF Knowledge in Crisis Excellence Cluster. The successful applicant will contribute to the department’s work in the intersection between ethics and epistemology and so will have a research background in these areas. It would also be desirable for the postholder to work in novel areas of epistemology such as know-how, social epistemology and the extended mind. This is an essential part of the Cluster of Excellence’s work and will fill a gap in the CEU Philosophy Department’s provision, as well as strengthening its essential work in ethics.Duties and Responsibilities:
The professor will be expected to maintain an active research agenda and regularly publish in major professional venues. They will do the usual teaching of undergraduate and graduate courses, including courses in one or more of the following fields: epistemology, ethics, history of analytic philosophy, continental philosophy. They will also supervise BA, MA and PhD theses as the need arises, and normal administrative work at the department and the university.Your qualifications:
PhD in philosophy by the time of starting employment. A good publication record appropriate to career stage.What CEU Offers:
We offer a yearly gross salary of 67,000 EUR as well as additional benefits (e.g., pension plan, sabbatical system).
