Assistant Professor – Department of Politics and International Relations

The appointment will commence on August 1, 2024, subject to budgetary approval. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Political Science with research and teaching expertise in the subfield of Comparative Politics. Candidates should have an active research agenda and a commitment to high quality undergraduate teaching.
The successful candidate will teach the equivalent of five 3-credit courses:
Fall Term:
• POLS 2221: Introduction to Comparative Politics
• POLS 3991: Issues in Comparative Politics (subject matter open, could be an area studies course focussing on Asia, Europe or Latin America)

Winter Term:
• INLR/POLS 2301: Introduction to International Relations
• POLS 3241: Human Rights
• POLS 4991: Democracy and Authoritarianism
