The successful candidate will have expertise in Canadian literature and culture and a PhD in an Arts and Humanities discipline. An interest in pedagogy and experience teaching at the undergraduate level are assets. The position will begin August 1, 2024, subject to budgetary approval. The appointment will be at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor depending on the candidate’s experience.
In addition to participating in a team-taught introductory Canadian Studies course, the successful candidate will teach an introductory course in Canadian literature, a course on media and popular culture in Canada, and two third-year courses on Canadian literature focusing on topics of their choice. The successful candidate will work with scholars who teach and research topics related to Indigeneity, diversity studies, border issues, critical citizenship, literary and cultural representation, and the scholarship of teaching and learning in higher education. Colleagues aim to support the successful candidate through informal mentorship and pedagogical collaboration.
