The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Wilfrid Laurier University invites applications for a Tenure-Track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in Biochemistry (broadly defined) beginning July 1st, 2026, subject to budgetary approval. The primary campus location for this position is The Waterloo Campus; however, teaching responsibilities may include instruction at the Brantford or Milton campuses via in-person or virtual delivery.
Anticipated Salary Range: $90,000 to $130,000. Actual salary to be commensurate with experience.
The Department welcomes applicants who have demonstrated excellence in research in any area of Biochemistry, including Biotechnology. The successful candidate will be assigned to teach undergraduate courses in the Honours Biochemistry & Biotechnology program and will be expected to contribute teaching within the MSc in Chemistry and PhD in Biological and Chemical Sciences programs. The successful candidate should have excellent potential in both teaching and research and will be expected to attract external funding and develop an active research program including supervision of undergraduate and graduate students. The successful candidate is also expected to contribute service to the University and academic community, and to scholarly and/or professional activities.
Qualifications for the positions include a PhD Degree in Biochemistry or a related area, and postdoctoral research experience is preferred.
