| The Department of Mathematics and Statistics anticipates filling at least two tenure-track positions (Assistant/ Associate Professor level) in all areas of mathematics beginning in August 2023. Candidates in discrete mathematics and applied/computational mathematics are especially encouraged to apply. Mississippi State University is a Land-Grant University and designated as a “very high research activity university” by the Carnegie Foundation. The Department offers a Ph.D. degree in Mathematical Sciences and is itself highly research oriented. Additional information may be found at http://www.math.msstate.edu .
Requirements for a tenure-track position include doctoral degree, or a doctoral degree expected no later than July 2022, demonstrated success in research, and a commitment to effective graduate and undergraduate teaching. Essential duties and responsibilities include teach undergraduate and/or graduate level courses, develop a substantial research program, provide direction and effective leadership for M.S. and Ph.D. students and engage in departmental, university, and scientific community service functions. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
