Organizational Unit Overview The College of Education is housed at East Carolina University. The Department of Mathematics, Science, and Instructional Technology Education (MSITE) is one of 6 instructional departments within the College of Education. MSITE houses undergraduate and graduate program areas in Mathematics Education, Science Education, and Instructional Technology Education.
Job Duties The Department of Mathematics, Science, and Instructional Technology Education in the College of Education at East Carolina is seeking applicants for a tenure-track (Assistant Professor or Associate Professor), nine-month, full-time faculty position available January 2023. Rank and salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
Responsibilities include: (1) teaching graduate and undergraduate courses (teaching responsibilities for this position include face-to-face courses and online courses), (2) engaging in an active research and publication agenda, including grant writing, (3) using innovative instructional technologies for curriculum development, and (4) providing service to the university, community, and profession.
Contingent upon availability of funding.
Minimum Education/Experience Ph.D. or Ed.D. in an instructional technology field. Consideration will be given to applicants holding a terminal degree in curriculum and instruction with a cognate in an instructional technology field.
Candidates with Ph.D. or Ed.D. conferred at the time of initial appointment will hold the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor upon initial appointment. ABD candidates will be initially appointed with the probationary term rank of Assistant Professor and must have the terminal degree conferred prior to your first reappointment. Qualifying degrees must be conferred and received from appropriately accredited institutions.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation n/a
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education Prefer candidates with Ph.D. or Ed.D. conferred.
Preferred qualifications include: (1) experience and willingness to teach Business and Information Technology Education courses, and Instructional Design and Development courses; (2) successful face-to-face and online teaching experience; and (3) a documented research agenda.
