Candidates should meet the general terms and conditions laid down in the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Official Gazette of Republic of Croatia No. 119/22), by the Statute of the Academy of Fine Arts of University of Zagreb and by Decision of the Rector’s Assembly and the National Council for Science, Higher Education and Technological Development on the necessary conditions for the evaluation of teaching and professional activity in the process of election to artistic-teaching and teaching titles in the field of art (Official Gazette of Republic of Croatia No. 61/17).

Specific Requirements

The applicants shall enclose with their application the following:

1. application
2. curriculum vitae with documentation confirming the fulfillment of the general requirements
3. proof of citizenship (copy of identity card, passport or birth certificate)
4. proof of the appropriate academic degree
5. a copy of the decision (certificate) on the previous election to the position if they were elected
6. presentation of artistic and teaching activities in digital (up to 5 minutes) and printed form
7. certificate of completed work experience – electronic record of labor-legal status (e-work book)
8. proof of knowledge of the English language
9. proof of knowledge of the Croatian language (minimum C1) should be submitted only by applicants who are not Croatian citizens

Selection process

In the application for the competition, it is necessary to indicate the candidate’s personal data (name and surname, date and place of birth, residential address, telephone or mobile number) and the name of the position to which the person is applying. The application must be signed by hand.

A complete application is considered to be one that contains all the information and attachments listed in the public tender.

A person who has not submitted a timely and/or complete application, or who does not meet the formal requirements of the public competition or who has not submitted an application at all, is not considered a candidate.

Persons who, according to special regulations, exercise the right of priority, must refer to that right in their application and attach all prescribed documentation according to the special law with the application.

A candidate who can exercise the right of priority in employment in the public service, in accordance with Article 102 of the Act on Croatian Veterans of the Homeland War and Members of Their Families (Official Gazette No. 121/17), Article 48f of the Act on the Protection of Military and Civilian of war invalids (Official Gazette No. 33/92, 77/92, 27/93, 58/93, 2/94, 76/94, 108/95, 108/96, 82/01, 103/03 and 148/13) , and Article 9 of the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities (Official Gazette No. 157/13 – consolidated text, 152/14 and 39/18) is obliged to refer to this right of priority in employment in compared to other candidates, only under equal conditions.

A candidate who invokes the right to priority in employment in accordance with Article 102 of the Act on Croatian Veterans of the Homeland War and Members of Their Families must, in addition to proof of fulfillment of the required conditions, attach proof prescribed by article 103, paragraph 1 of the Act on Croatian Veterans of the Homeland War and their family members.

A candidate who invokes the right of priority in employment in accordance with Article 9 of the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities, along with the application for a public tender, must, in addition to proof of fulfillment of the required conditions, also attach proof of established status of a person with a disability.

Candidates who meet the formal conditions of the competition can be referred to testing, which consists of checking knowledge, abilities and skills, as well as to psychological testing. All candidates who meet the formal conditions of the competition will be invited to an interview. A candidate who did not participate in the tests or interview will be considered to have withdrawn his/her application for the public competition and will no longer be considered a candidate. The content and method of the test, as well as the time and place of the test, will be published on the official website of the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Zagreb (http://www.alu.unizg.hr ), at least three days before the test, and the time and place of the interview at least two days before the interview.

Documents are attached in uncertified copies.

The selected candidate is obliged, before concluding the employment contract, to submit the documentation on the fulfillment of the required conditions in the original or a certified copy.

Until the selection decision is made, the public competition may be canceled without explanation.

The results of the public competition will be announced on the official website of the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Zagreb.

Late and incomplete applications will not be considered.

Pursuant to Article 13 of the Law on Gender Equality (“Official Gazette” No. 82/08 and 69/17), members of both sexes can apply for the competition, and the masculine gender expressions used in the competition are used neutrally and refer to male and female persons.

The deadline for submitting applications is 30 days from the date of publication in the “Narodne novine”.

Additional comments

The Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Zagreb will use and continue to process data for the purpose of implementing the competition procedure in accordance with the regulations governing the protection of personal data. Competition’s documents, ie data on candidates, are kept for six months from the end of the competition, and longer in the case of court or similar proceedings, in which case they are kept until the end of the proceedings. After the expiration of the storage period, the documentation is destroyed, with the fact that every candidate can collect his/her documentation after the expiration of the storage period.
