The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Adolescent Medicine has an opening for a full-time Assistant Professor

Nature of Work

Assistant Professor faculty member with responsibilities in providing direct clinical care to adolescent patients; teaching Adolescent Medicine fellows, residents and medical students; and sharing in on-call rotations with the other Section members.

Examples of Work Performed

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Provide direct clinical care to adolescents in the Adolescent Medicine Clinic and the TRUE Center for Gender Diversity.

• At a .8cFTE, the expectation for clinical sessions is 6 sessions per week (1 session = 4 hours)

• Function as “Faculty Attending” in the Adolescent Medicine Clinic. When Attending, the provider will work in the clinic to provide care for patients on their panel, same day sick visits for other providers, and manage walk-ins and overbook requests.

• Participate in the shared “on-call” rotation with other faculty members, both in Adolescent Medicine Clinic and the TRUE Center.

• .2 FTE will be dedicated to developing academic pursuits based on candidate’s interests and Section’s needs, e.g. research or education.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established at: $150,375 – $155,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

• MD or DO Degree

• Board Eligible or Certified in Adolescent Medicine.

• Minimum of two years of experience in clinical adolescent medicine, with excellent reviews (can include fellowship experience)

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children’s Hospital Colorado.
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge skills and abilities appropriate for an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics with subspecialty expertise in Adolescent Medicine.

• The candidate must be both efficient clinically as well as being comprehensive in clinical care delivery, while adhering to the highest quality metrics.

Preferred Qualifications

• More than three years of experience in clinical adolescent medicine, with excellent reviews (can include fellowship experience)

• Two or more years of experience in graduate medical education (can include students, residents, fellows), with excellent reviews

• Exemplary track record in seeing a broad array of clinical problems with demonstrated experience in caring for complex adolescent physical and psychosocial problems.

• Spanish speaking preferred, but not required.

• Experience in providing gender affirming care.
