Salary Information
Department Summary The department of Internal Medicine and Geriatrics is comprised of a family of divisions, organized to establish continuity of medical care and to create a medical home for our patients. Our division within the Internal Medicine department include: General Internal Medicine, providing primary care, and a Hospitalist Team providing care in our local area hospitals. Our sub-specialty divisions include: Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, Infectious Disease, Rheumatology, Cardiology (General and subspecialty), Neurology and Geriatrics. Many of our faculty members are regionally and nationally renowned with leadership positions in national and international medical societies.
The Department’s academic goal is to provide primary teaching strategies and problem-based learning solutions for students, residents, and fellows. Internal Medicine provides both classroom and clinical based experiences covering both inpatient and ambulatory care. Our goal is to prepare students, residents and fellows to assume roles as clinical practitioners, academic leaders and community advocates in all aspects of primary and subspecialty care.
Position Summary The University of North Texas Health Science Center’s Department of Internal Medicine and Geriatrics is seeking a qualified Assistant Professor in Geriatrics:
Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
  • Teaching of medical students, residents, and GI fellows
  • Opportunity to work with local hospitals, nursing and hospice.
Minimum Qualifications
  • MD/DO Degree required
  • Board Certified
Preferred Qualifications The preferred candidate will possess the following additonal qualifications:
Experience in Geriatrics
Academic Experience
*Possess excellent communication, clinical, and leadership skills
Required License / Registration / Certification
Physical Requirements Sitting, Standing, Walking, Writing, Grasp, Ability to communicate
Area of Specialty
