The candidate will be responsible for carrying out research tasks as part of the research project entitled “Joint radar-communication systems” – agreement No. 1820/11/Z01/Z10/2022 on the implementation of research projects selected in the competition under the POSTDOC PW program, edition No. 2 financed under the Project “Excellence Initiative – Research University” implemented at the Warsaw University of Technology. Project leader: dr hab. ing. Piotr Samczyński, prof. uczelni. The project summary is attached to the information about the competition. Planned period of employment: 01/04/2023 – 31/03/2025

The scope of the candidate’s duties following the application for funding includes:

  • literature studies concerning different approaches to joint radar-communication systems, waveforms, modulations, their operation principles, and transmission parameters will be carried out to identify their strengths and weaknesses. Simulations will be carried out to estimate system performances and determine their possibilities and limitations. As a study result, at least one waveform type and system architecture will be selected for further development.
  • Hardware demonstrator design and development.
  • Algorithm development using simulation for joint radar-communication systems
  • Hardware test in laboratory and outdoor measurements. The performances of the developed demonstrator will be evaluated in both laboratory and real operating conditions to ensure the fulfilment of design requirements.
  • Algorithm validation using real measured data.
  • Publish scientific articles in scored journals from the JCR list
  • Preparation and submission of research project proposals from external sources.
