The ideal candidate will contribute to our growing program in lifespan applied developmental science and have earned a doctorate or equivalent in areas pertinent to human development and family studies, prevention science, psychology, allied health, or behavioral health by the Fall 2023 start date. We seek experts in research relevant to populations experiencing or having a high probability of experiencing child and family trauma. Example areas of expertise related to trauma include child abuse and neglect (e.g., neurobiology, social-emotional, health, and trauma-informed practices); interpersonal trauma (e.g., peers and romantic partners); trauma-related mental health outcomes; and trauma-focused prevention, assessment, and intervention.

These positions will fit well within HDFS and our department’s thriving centers. The HDFS department has thriving centers that are staffed by faculty and students. The Center for Family and Couple Therapy is a community based therapy center offering treatment for a diverse population of individuals, couples and families. The CSU Trauma and Resilience Assessment Center provides resilience-based trauma assessments for youth and adults. Campus Connections is an evidence-based mentoring program for youth in need of a constructive and supportive community.
