Job Description Summary:
Serve in a clinical educator role, specializing in Gastroenterology, and Transplant Hepatology with responsibility for education of resident and medical students providing care for inpatients. Provide consultative services for patients cared for by other faculty members in KU Medical Center as well as contributing to various research, educational and clinical initiatives related to areas of interest and expertise.
Job Description:

As a clinician, perform endoscopy procedures, see patients in clinics and consults, and participate in on-call coverage. Patient contact will occur at KUMC and may occur at affiliate locations such as KU MedWest.
Educate internal medicine residents and medical students in the core competencies appropriate to their level. Lead a team of internal medicine residents and medical students in the provision of outstanding medical care to hospitalized individuals within Kansas University Medical Center.
Participate in regular educational and administrative conferences, as directed by immediate supervisor, including participation on subcommittees relevant to area of practice or education.
Support scholarly activities of the University, including participation in research and educational activities, within the Department and possibly throughout the University.
** Required Qualifications **
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine/Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology. Must have authorization to work in the United States. The candidate is required to have completed a UNOS designated training program in liver transplantation; possesses UNOS approval to direct a liver transplant program and be able to manage both pre-operative and post-operative liver transplant patients.
** Preferred Qualifications **
Prefer candidate with experience in transplantation.
