The UW-Milwaukee College of Health Sciences Health Informatics & Administration Department encompasses a range of programs dedicated to facilitating Undergraduate, Graduate, and Doctoral students’ development of skills in areas of high demand in health care.
Within the Health Care Informatics programs, we develop students’ skills in high-demand areas in health care, such as systems analysis and design, database design and management, clinical decision support and computer programming.
Job Summary This position is a 100% hard-funded tenure-track 9-month academic year appointment with competitive salary, attractive benefits and start-up package, and the possibility to generate summer salary. The successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses; mentor graduate students; develop and/or expand their own externally-funded research program; engage in university and professional service; and collaborate with academic colleagues in the College of Health Sciences and the University, as well as with community partners. 
Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD or Terminal Degree by the time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD or Terminal Degree in Health Informatics, Biomedical Informatics, or a related field (e.g. Computer Science, Data Science, Biostatistics, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Informatics, Health Sciences, Public Health)
  • Evidence of teaching experience/excellence, including online and distance education instructional methods.
  • Evidence of experience in research and scholarship activities
  • Prior professional experience practicing health informatics
  • Ability to communicate and foster effective relationships with people from diverse cultural, educational, and financial background.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
