The history program invites applications for up to two tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Latin American History, beginning Fall 2023. We welcome candidates whose experience in teaching Latin American History, research, and service has prepared them to support our shared commitment to diversity and excellence. An active research agenda in Latin American history and engagement in service at the institution will be expected of the candidate who joins our department. Candidates from traditionally underrepresented groups and those individuals with a history of and commitment to mentoring marginalized populations are strongly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications
Required:
- Candidates must have received a Ph.D. in History with a specialization in Latin America from a regionally-accredited institution by the time of employment.
- Candidates will demonstrate the ability to establish an active publication record; engage in service activities at the university; utilize inclusive teaching methods that promote equitable learning environments for student success; and teach across multiple course modalities.
- Candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in their specialty area, as well as core courses in Latino Studies and U.S. History.
Preferred: Ability to teach courses related to Mexico, Borderlands, and/or U.S. Women’s History.
