Assistant Professor

THE DIRECTOR OF THE BUILDING RESEARCH INSTITUTE in Warsaw on the basis of the Art. 43 of the Act of 30 April 2010 on research institutes (Dz. U. / Journal of Laws of 2022, item 498) and the Statute of the Building Research Institute announces a competition for the position of the Assistant Professor in the Construction Materials Engineering Department in the group of research workers

For the assistant professor position may join candidates who meet the conditions set out in the Act of 30 April 2010 on research institutes (Dz. U. / Journal of Laws of 2022, item 498) specified in Art. 43 sec. 5.

Candidates should also meet other following requirements:

Doctoral degree in civil engineering and transport or material engineering.

At least 5 years’ experience gained in scientific or R&D institutions or organizations.

At least 5 years’ experience in conducting scientific and R&D research.

At least 5 years’ experience in conducting research in the field of scanning electron microscopy of polymeric materials and polymer composites.

At least 2 years’ experience in testing and evaluating the performance of polymer construction products and polymer-based composites.

Authorship or co-authorship of at least 5 scientific publications concerning civil engineering in the last 3 years.

Participation in foreign and long-term research internships involving independent research.

Experience in public speaking during trainings and conferences.

Excellent communication in English language (oral and written) that enables work in international teams.

In the case of foreign candidates, the knowledge of Polish language is required (oral and written).

Good knowledge of MS Office.

Driver’s license.

Responsibilities:

Creative scientific activity based on solving scientific issues that ensure proper technical and quality of buildings in terms of safety of use, availability and durability.

Introducing the results of scientific research or development works into practice by creating criteria for the evaluation of products and construction facilities as well as technical solutions and their evaluation.

Development and implementation into practice of new tests and improvement of existing test methods and participation in the development of national building regulations proposals.

Improvement of qualifications by participation in training, conferences and scientific seminars.

Disseminating scientific achievements by publishing scientific and technical articles.

Participation in scientific life, cooperation with national and international institutions in the field of research and development works and standardization.

Teaching the engineering and scientific workers by conducting trainings concerning programming and conditions for the implementation of research, as well as the evaluation and interpretation of research results.

Participation in organizational works of the Institute related to conducted scientific research or development works.

Participation in national and international scientific projects and grants
