Assistant Manager/Senior Assistant Manager (Content Creation)

Always fancied being a magazine writer or a content creator? We are looking for a passionate multimedia storyteller to help the University tell its stories and share its successes.

You will write for HEY!, NTU’s award-winning augmented reality magazine that breaks new ground in creative communication.

You must have some experience in lifestyle writing and be multimedia savvy, well versed in the tools and techniques of storytelling and social media.

You are someone who can use your knowledge and abilities to advance organisational objectives, and with your creativity, tenacity and agility, you relish the thought of delivering these outcomes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the integrated HEY! magazine as a key content creator and producer. Your duties include planning and implementing editorial calendars, developing issue line-ups, proposing story ideas, writing and editing stories, managing student writers, implementing augmented reality features, and shaping design and layout.
• Contribute to the development and execution of a social media strategy that spans multiple platforms. The scope of work includes maintaining a healthy content pipeline, drafting posts, monitoring social chatter and performing community management.
• Play a central, hands-on role in ensuring NTU’s successful adoption of newer social platforms.
• Work closely with internal and other stakeholders to source for a constant stream of stories for various media platforms.
• Stay abreast of channels and trends in the publications and social media space, and provide timely advisory on how the prevailing strategy and tactics could be evolved to take advantage of these developments.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related discipline, e.g. Communication.
• 3 or more years of experience in a content creation or lifestyle writing role.
• A flair for long- and short-form multimedia storytelling in English.
• Excellent editing skills and faultless grammar.
• Familiarity with social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.
• Social media management experience and knowledge of social analytics tools.
• Strong ability to marry style and substance in content creation, and to tailor content for specific needs.
• Tenacious with excellent project management skills and appreciates the time-sensitive nature of news.
• Professional experience with lifestyle content is advantageous.
• Professional experience in content creation on AR and VR platforms is advantageous.
• Proficiency in video production and editing software (such as Adobe Creative Suite) is advantageous.
