Extensive hours during peak seasons. Additional hours will be required to include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. 

Purpose

To assist in the management, coordination and execution of the Athletic Department’s Game Operations and administrative support for assigned sports programs as well as assist the Special Events team.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary game operations contact for assigned sports programs, ensuring all game operations and related facility logistics are effectively scheduled, coordinated, managed and operated within the allocated budgets.
  • Assist with event staffing, including staffing policies, training, and ensuring best practices are executed regarding game operations, to ensure adequate support at Athletics Department sports competitions and events, including, but not limited to, all sports programs, University Interscholastic League (UIL) High School Championship competitions.
  • Assist Game Operations and Special Events teams with various game operations and internal and external events held within the Athletics Department. Support the coordination, scheduling, set-up and takedown of Athletics Department game operations and special events as assigned.
  • Assist with the coordination and distribution of all aspects and logistics of home and visiting teams; fans, guests and dignitaries for assigned sports programs.
  • Maintain effective and positive working relationships with the following but not limited to AD Office, Facilities, AV/IT, Business Office, HR, External Affairs (i.e., ticket sales/operations, marketing, fan engagement, concessions/catering, media relations, spirit squads/mascot, creative, Fanatics, Learfield, etc.), Sports Admin, and Sports Med teams to effectively implement game operations procedures and produce quality execution of all programming.
  • Closely collaborate with the Fan Services & Game Operations Coordinator and the External Affairs teams to ensure the Texas Fan-first philosophy is prioritized and effectively implemented on a consistent basis. 
  • Assist in the coordination and execution of assigned sport programs, special events, including but limited to, Football, Texas Relays, Red River Showdown and Conference, NCAA, UIL championship games and events.
  • Assist in the coordination of the administration of payroll for various event staff and sports as assigned, including UIL High School Championships and other game operations employees as assigned.
  • Actively participate and assist in coordinating regular and ongoing game operation meetings with assigned sports and stakeholder to ensure effective communication and execution of responsibilities across all employees and stakeholders.
  • Identify and recommend policies and procedures (i.e., game operation manuals, etc.) for improved efficiencies and outcomes in all areas related to the effective execution of game operations. 
  • Assist with the coordination and distribution of game day credentials in accordance with Texas Athletics policies and procedures.
  • Assist with ensuring a safe, secure and enjoyable environment for all sports programs and events by adhering to the safety, security and emergency management protocols as relates to each Athletic Department venues.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Three years of experience of responsible level experience in program administration or program coordination. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Five years of responsible level experience in program administration or program coordination. Experience setting up, breaking down, working, planning and coordinating events.

Driving Required

This job requires a class “C” operator’s driver’s license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver’s license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.

Salary Range

$50,000 + depending on qualifications
