The Student Affairs Office aims to fulfil its mission of “striving with partners to co-create and co-own a meaningful and enriching student life experience”. It provides a wide range of student-centric services including: integration and inclusive programmes, experiential learning in halls of residence, student development through clubs and societies, community engagement projects and sports.
The Assistant Manager (Care & Guidance) will undertake the following duties:
Responsibilities
- Provides pastoral support on day-to-day student matters (e.g., medical needs, financial needs, housing, wellbeing, academic performance, and employability post-graduation) for students under MOE’s Bridging programme, NTU Science and Engineering scholars, and ASEAN scholars.
- Oversee and train a group of hall mentors and buddies to assist the Faculty-in-Residence to manage and facilitate their integration into the hall community.
- Prepare management reports for NTU senior management and government ministries.
- Develop new and enhance existing initiatives to promote the professional growth of international scholars in the non-academic domain.
- Collaborate with various internal stakeholders (Admissions, Academic Services, Career Attachment, University Wellbeing Office and Schools) to ensure the wellbeing of Bridging and international scholars throughout their bridging programme and undergraduate years.
- Plan and manage the implementation of social integration programmes that creates an inclusive student experience amongst students of different cultural, geographic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Any other duties as assigned by the supervisors.
Requirements
- A good Bachelor’s degree from a recognised University.
- At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience involving close interaction with students or youth; experience in the tertiary education sector will be advantageous.
