Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role
Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington wishes to recruit TWO Assistant Lecturers in Criminology. Both posts will be on a 0.5 FTE and three-year term. The positions will provide an introduction to academic life in a context of structured development. The successful applicants will commence work alongside doctoral study.
Key Responsibilities:
- Applying Mātauranga Māori to learning and research.
- Contributing to Criminology courses.
- Demonstrating good teaching and a developing research agenda.
- Participating in the collegial and administrative life of the Institute of Criminology.
- Contributing to equity through a commitment to te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Ō pūmanawa – About you
Criminology is keen to recruit emerging scholars with a research interest in settler colonialism, Māori justice and mātauranga Māori, and a commitment to teaching in these areas.
Key Requirements:
- A Masters degree (or nearly completed) in Criminology.
- A developing research agenda, including a commitment to doctoral study.
- Previous experience in undergraduate teaching related to Criminology.
- Commitment to the continuing positive development of the Institute of Criminology.
