Assistant Director, Personal Computing Technologies

The Assistant Director, Personal Computing Technologies facilitates service delivery and supports Personal Computing Technologies at NYU. These services include the Google Workspaces for Education Platform (email, google drive, google groups, google meet and google sites), Box at NYU, email impersonation (Valimail), the virtual computer lab, and other collaborative and personal computing technologies at NYU. Additionally, the position develops and delivers strategic recommendations for services in the Personal Computing Technologies Portfolio to increase user satisfaction, and overall user experience for the entire NYU global community. Working with leadership, develop and provide strategy for services globally for NYU, including Abu Dhabi and Shanghai. The Assistant Director, Personal Computing Technologies supervises two full-time employees and two student workers. Occasional evening and weekend hours are required.
Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred Education:
Master’s Degree
Required Experience:
7+ years of experience supporting information technologies, training, and client service. Experience supporting SaaS and PaaS offerings. Experience in using metrics to support strategy and direction of services. and 3+ years of experience supervising staff. or 3+ years of leadership experience.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to absorb complex technical information and communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to analyze and solve problems with innovative, creative solutions. Ability to build strong customer relationships. Ability to drive multiple projects to successful completion. Ability to inspire and develop staff. Ability to develop and deliver metrics around services for New York and global sites including Shanghai and Abu Dhabi.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to monitor/assess performance of yourself and organizations to make improvements or take corrective action. Ability to use data to communicate strategic direction of Personal Computing Technology Services to increase user satisfaction and experience globally.
