Assistant Director of Athletic Development

Creighton’s move to the BIG EAST Conference has opened up new opportunities to engage alumni and friends in support of Creighton Athletics and the University. The Assistant Director of Athletic Development will be responsible for acquiring philanthropic support for Creighton Athletics.  Responsibilities include the cultivation and solicitation of major gifts both within Omaha and a specific region across the country. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Assistant Vice President of Athletic Development to strategize opportunities to increase giving for Creighton Athletics. This position is organizationally a member of the Athletic Development Office which includes a strong partnership with Creighton Athletics.

 

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate understanding of how Athletic Departments run in a University setting preferred and experience working with student-athletes, coaches and athletic department personnel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to speak in a public setting.
  • Ability to think strategically and quickly summarize complex and detailed information.
  • Ability to travel nationally for athletics donor events including during week nights and over weekends.
  •  Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA and BIG EAST Conference guidelines, policies, rules and regulations with the ability to interpret, apply, enforce and explain such policies and rules.
  • Appreciation and understanding of Creighton University’s mission and the ability to effectively communicate it.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 1+ years of demonstrated donor relations experience is required.
  • Experience with cultivating, soliciting, and closing gifts
  • Experience working in customer relations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Advance, Reeher or comparable fund-raising database. 
  • Familiarity with Archtics, Advantage, Paciolin or comparable ticketing and donor database.
