| Position Overview | Reporting to the Director of the Multicultural Center, the Assistant Director for APIDA Student initiatives will have the primary responsibility for the development and implementation of educational and cultural programming. The Assistant Director for APIDA Student initiatives will further the University’s efforts in supporting programs, services, and collaborations that focus on their retention, completion, and engagement of APIDA on campus. The Assistant Director will serve as a resource for students’ academic, identity, and personal development, and social needs. |

| Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor’s in a related field (student personnel, student development, higher education administration, student affairs) and 4 years of professional related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. |

Collaborates with campus partners and has knowledge of methods for facilitating strategic partnerships and conversations around equitable and inclusive practices within a campus community. Job Duties
| o | • Establish APIDA Student Leadership Experiences and Advise and support APIDA groups (Asian Student Association, Filipino Student Association, etc.) |

| o | • Deep awareness and understanding of the history of APIDA community and their contributions to the success of the United States. |

| o | • Theoretical and practical understanding of student development, racial identity development, intersectionality, and complexity of social identities. |

| o | • Ability to collect, interpret, and utilize data to improve academic outcomes for students of color including APIDA students |

| o | • Assist with the facilitation of university wide heritage month celebrations and intersectional programming (Asian-Pacific Islander-Desi-American Heritage Month) |

| o | • Designs and implements all programming and student engagement opportunities offered through the Multicultural Center including community building, identity development, and education programming |

| o | • Design and develop mentorship curricula that will be incorporated into new and existing mentorship programs |

| o | • Serve as liaison to and assist with the development of APIDA faculty/staff groups and connect students to the Denton/DFW for community-based events (i.e., Day, Lunar New Year, Lantern Festival, etc.) |
