Job Responsibilities

Assist the head coach with player instruction and development including:

  • Planning and supervision of practices
  • Game planning and game day coaching
  • Player evaluation and development

Support the overall physical conditioning needs of varsity athletes. 

Must serve as a positive role model for the student-athletes at all times.  Develop and maintain effective on communication with team members. 

Will occasionally participate in recruitment activities and with travel plans for away contests.

Required Qualifications

Education/Experiene:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
A minimum of 3-5 years of coaching experience in coaching Women’s Lacrosse.

Skills:

  • Impeccable integrity and demonstrated capacity to teach, coach, and communicate broadly with student athletes, families, colleagues; cultivate and sustain collegial relationships; build unity around difficult issues; be an active listener, facilitator, convener, and mediator.
    • Recognized as an effective advocate for the student athlete experience and personally exhibit high ethical standards of conduct.
  • Ability to attract, recruit, retain, inspire and motivate highly qualified student-athletes.
  • Possess a deep understanding of a diverse student body and a demonstrated commitment to an inclusive environment that promotes and values diversity and cross-cultural experiences of its members.
  • Administratively self-sufficient and be proficient using software and enterprise systems appropriate for the complexities of the role and its functions.
  • Basic knowledge of video filming, editing and analytics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree.
  • Prior experience as a student athlete at the collegiate level.
  • Coaching experience at the collegiate level.
  • Knowledge of Deaf culture, American Sign Language (ASL), or willingness to learn.
