| About this Opportunity | The Department of Finance and Insurance invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Finance. The Department of Finance and Insurance, part of the Miller College of Business, an AACSB accredited college of business, offers degrees in Finance and Risk Management & Insurance (RMI) and minors in Banking, Financial Planning, and RMI. The curriculum provides opportunities for our students to pursue certifications in Certified Financial Planning (CFP), Certified Financial Analyst (CFA), as well as earning credit towards certifications for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), and Certified Risk Manager (CRM). Seniors in our Portfolio Management class are offered the unique opportunity to get hands-on experience in managing an investment fund of $1.9 million value. |

| Description | The Department of Finance and Insurance has a full-time tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level available August 18, 2023. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and conducting scholarly research in the area of finance and/or risk management and insurance, including Fintech or Insurtech. Service to the university and profession in general is also expected. |
| Minimum Qualifications | PhD in Finance or related field from an AACSB (or EQUIS) accredited institution. |
| Authorization to work in the US | Employer will consider sponsorship. |
| Preferred Qualifications | Evidence of potential for effective teaching and scholarship. Established record of effective teaching and publications in high quality journals is necessary for consideration at Associate Professor rank. Teaching interests in finance and/or risk management and insurance, preferably financial engineering or Fintech or Insurtech is preferred. |
