ROLE of the POSITION
The UNLV College of Education invites qualified individuals to apply for Assistant/Associate Professor position in a dynamic and diverse Educational Psychology program. The Educational Psychology program is situated within the Department of Educational Psychology, Leadership, and Higher Education, and is related to other rapidly growing programs including Learning Sciences and Assessment and Quantitative Analysis (AQUA) in Education.
The position will require an individual with strong quantitative skills and training, as well as a research program that applies these skills in an area that complements the strengths of the department and Educational Psychology program. Special consideration will be given to applicants whose active lines of research contribute to equity, anti-racist, and social justice scholarship, as well as those whose research centers assessment, measurement, evaluation, and/or advanced statistical modeling. The individual is also expected to conduct research, publish in scholarly journals, and pursue external funding, as well as supervise and advise graduate students, serve on departmental and university committees, and perform university and community service as appropriate. Candidates at the rank of Associate Professor requesting consideration of tenure in the Department of Educational Psychology & Higher will meet tenure criteria as outlined in the departmental bylaws in research, teaching, and service.

The Department of Educational Psychology & Higher Education is comprised of a diverse faculty committed to providing instruction in, and the delivery of, innovative research to inform the educational process from early childhood through higher education. The department offers graduate-level courses in assessment, human development, higher education, learning, measurement, and research, which support all programs in the College of Education. In addition to the graduate studies programs, the department provides core foundations courses for teacher education programs in the College of Education and is the academic site for a career and personal development course offered through the UNLV Student Development Center.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires an earned Doctorate in educational psychology, statistics and methodological studies, educational research, or a related field in social sciences or mathematics, with a specialization in quantitative methods from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
The position also requires demonstrated knowledge of quantitative research methods and educational research designs. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment. Faculty rank will be dependent upon educational credentials, terminal degree, experience, and scholarly achievement.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
For applicants at the rank of Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track):
A research focus on/or demonstrated expertise in assessment, measurement, evaluation or statistical modeling
Evidence of a coherent and productive research agenda leading to publication in high-impact educational research journals;
The potential to secure and manage extramural funding to support scholarly activities;
A commitment to diversity, equity, and socially-just scholarly practices related to teaching, research and service.
For applicants at the rank of Associate Professor (Tenure-Track):
Evidence of a successful scholarship record commensurate with an Associate Professor in the area of assessment, measurement, evaluation, or statistical modeling;
Evidence of effective teaching and advising at the college or university level, including undergraduate and graduate students;
Evidence of participation in requests for external funding to support scholarly activities;
A commitment to diversity, equity, and socially-just scholarly practices related to teaching, research and service.
For applicants at the rank of Associate Professor (Tenured):
Evidence of an extensive scholarship record commensurate with a tenured Associate Professor in the area of assessment, measurement, evaluation, or statistical modeling;
Evidence of effective teaching and advising at the college or university level, including undergraduate and graduate students;
Evidence of participation in requests for external funding to support scholarly activities;
A commitment to diversity, equity, and socially-just scholarly practices related to teaching, research and service;
Demonstrated ability to successfully meet tenure criteria as outlined in the departmental bylaws in research, teaching, and service.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A research focus in education that contributes to equity, anti-racist, and social justice scholarship and/or that centers assessment, measurement, evaluation, and advanced statistical modeling;
Experience teaching courses in advanced statistics (e.g., multivariate; structural equation modeling) or evaluation with the ability to work with students and faculty in varied disciplines;
Experience mentoring masters and doctoral students in the area of quantitative methods and serving on master thesis and dissertation committees;
Expertise using a variety of statistical software (e.g., MPLUS, R, JASP) and basic knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++);
Demonstrated pedagogical flexibility with regard to in-person, web-based hybrid, and web-based remote instructional formats.
