The person will contribute to the teaching missions of both the Neuroscience Program and Biology Department in neuroscience and more broadly in cellular and/or molecular biology. Teaching responsibilities may include the development of undergraduate and graduate courses, as well as the advising and mentoring of students.

Excellent facilities and a competitive start-up package are provided, and opportunities are available to collaborate with researchers in the Henry and Amelia Nasrallah Center for Neuroscience, including faculty in the Psychology Department and SLU’s nearby Health Science Center, as well as researchers at other local universities.

We are seeking candidates with expertise in mentoring students from historically excluded groups, and who have a demonstrated commitment to racial justice.

Candidates must have:

  • A doctoral degree in biology, neuroscience, or related area, and postdoctoral experience.
  • The ability to work and engage effectively with diverse students and faculty.

  • Statement of research accomplishments and future research plans
  • Statement of teaching and mentoring philosophy
