Emporia State University (ESU) is seeking Computer Science candidates with expertise in Cybersecurity for a tenure-track or three-year contract position determined from candidate input. Expected start date is no later than August 2023. The appointment will be at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position is housed in the AACSB-accredited School of Business . The successful candidate will play a vital role in starting our federally funded Cybersecurity Center and in Cybersecurity curriculum development.

Position Requirements:

An earned doctorate degree in the field of Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related discipline from a regionally accredited school is required. An on-going research agenda in the Cybersecurity domain is highly expected. Post-doctoral experience in relevant areas with writing and managing grant is also preferred. Primary teaching areas include but are not limited to Cybersecurity, Computer Programming, Computer Theory, and Application Development courses in both undergraduate and graduate programs. Relevant teaching experience, including online instruction – along with relevant industry experience, is a plus. The successful candidate must exhibit potential for excellence in teaching, active research, scholarly activities leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals, and grant writing and management. The successful candidate is also expected to make service contributions to the School, the University, and the broader community.

Required Qualification:

· Completed Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline from a regionally accredited institute.

· Proven experience with grant writing and/or grant management.

· Active research agenda in the discipline.

Preferred Qualification:

· An on-going research agenda in Cybersecurity.

· Previous or current post-doctoral experience in Computer Science (Cybersecurity).

· Relevant teaching experience in face-to-face or online modalities.

· Relevant industry experience.

· Professional certificates relevant to Cybersecurity.

· Experience on community engagement and high-impact learning.
