Position DescriptionThe University of Washington and Seattle Children’s Hospital are currently recruiting for a full-time physician specializing in Pediatric Ophthalmology to begin on July 1, 2025. This is a 12 month service period position.This appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, without tenure due to source of funding are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Qualified candidates of all levels of experience will be considered. Associate or full Professor, without tenure due to source of funding hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Qualified candidates of all levels of experience will be considered.This position will be based primarily at the Seattle Children’s Hospital. Candidates will be expected to provide pediatric care, including treatment of consult and emergency patients and surgery, at Seattle Children’s Hospital and University of Washington affiliated hospitals, which include UW Medical Center and Harborview Medical Center.Responsibilities include: clinical care, resident supervision and training in both the outpatient and operating room settings, and teaching of medical students.The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to scholarship in ophthalmology. Protected time for academic endeavors will be provided.The base salary range for this position will be $20,000-$21,666 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.QualificationsCandidates must have an MD degree (or foreign equivalent) and have completed ophthalmology residency (or foreign equivalent) and one or more years of postgraduate training in pediatric ophthalmology.
