The University of Virginia’s Karsh Institute of Democracy seeks a creative and experienced Assistant/Associate Director of Marketing and Content (ADMC) to drive the institute’s nascent brand. Serving a variety of areas across the institute, the ADMC will develop marketing strategy and execute impactful and measurable marketing content, campaigns and outreach activities to reach target audiences. Reporting to the Director of Communications, the ADMC will provide marketing leadership, coordination and support, and will work with individuals across the institute to build marketing plans that deliver measurable results.
The ADMC will create or work with vendors to create all forms of digital and print communications, including editorial content, emails, newsletters, marketing collateral, social media content, digital advertising, website content and presentations. The individual will provide recommendations on content, publications, content platform integration and opportunities that communicate the goals and advance the reputation of the Karsh Institute of Democracy.

Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree.
Experience: At least five years of experience
Preferred Qualifications
Exceptional writing and editing skills and demonstrated ability to write for variety of platforms and voices (marketing copy, editorial, social media, etc.)
Physical Demands
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
All team members must have access to and maintain a secure home office environment with high-speed internet service and work collaboratively with others using a variety of technologies and tools. This position is a Hybrid position that will require working intermittently in a shared office space located in Charlottesville, Virginia.
The anticipated start date is December 2022 – January 2023.
Anticipated Hiring Range for Assistant Director of Marketing Content – $72,000-$80,000 commensurate with education and experience.
Anticipated Hiring for Range Associate Director of Marketing Content – $80,000-$90,000 commensurate with education and experience.
