Salary: UH4 £22,662pa pro rata to £23,715pa pro rata with potential to progress to £25,642pa pro rata on achieving designated skills and experience

Location: MacLaurin Building, Bishops Square, Hatfield

Main duties and responsibilities

The Assistant Administrator will undertake a range of general administrative duties relating specifically to Academic Services. To ensure accurate and correct completion of department-related administration in full compliance with legal and University requirements.

You will be part of a system support team and will support the Section Head in a range of administrative duties, but with a particular focus on ensuring the accuracy and integrity in relation to all aspects of the University’s Programme Specifications (PS) and course fact sheets (CFA) and to provide guidance accordingly.

Skill and experience required

We’re looking for someone whose application clearly shows how they have relevant IT and administrative experience to be successful in these roles. Applicants should be proactive, flexible to requirements and motivated individuals. Accuracy and attention to detail are also key requirements.

You may have relevant administrative experience in a complex and dynamic organisation, and experience of working in Higher Education administration would be advantageous.

Your application will evidence good IT skills and that you are numerate and literate. You will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of customer care with a polite, helpful and confident telephone manner. The ability to collect, process and present complex data is key. Tact and diplomacy, with the ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality is crucial.

You will be required to work flexibly and adaptably, being effective in a team setting, with a can-do attitude. You will have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances, processes and institutional culture and to be proactive in promoting change.

Qualifications required

You will hold a minimum of five GCSEs, including Maths and English at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent qualifications, or proven experience.
