Purpose
Advise students individually and in groups. Manage admission and registration processes of the Integrated Master’s Program. Ensure the priorities of the College and Undergraduate Education are incorporated into all aspects of the position, including student-centeredness, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Responsibilities
- Advise students individually and in groups about the development of educational plan options and the resources available. Responsible for understanding and interpreting the requirements and academic options in the specific area and in other campus departments to facilitate the student’s pursuit of fields of interest. Makes appropriate referrals.
- Facilitate Integrated Master’s program application process annually. Includes coordinating and presentation info sessions, organize application materials and communicate with applicants and faculty admission committee. Facilitate graduate course registration in conjunction with graduate coordinators.
- Facilitate small community cohorts of students, and present at workshops and new student orientation.
- Participate in professional conferences and professional development. May assist in training students or staff who is involved in academic advising. May serve on committees. Performs related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and experience working with student populations. Commitment to working with and supporting diverse populations and their families and engaging with students, faculty and staff from a wide range of backgrounds. Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with all levels of constituents; students, families, faculty and other staff members.
Demonstrated professional demeanor. Able to work independently and in teams with overlapping projects. Familiarity with video and web conferencing software such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs or counseling. Experience working with college student populations, or UT experience as an orientation advisor, special program mentor, or other related position.
Salary Range
$41,000

Work is performed in a standard office environment.
- This position is eligible for a Hybrid Flexible Work Arrangement (remote + on-campus).
