Overview

Applications are sought for an Assessment Administrator to provide administrative support of all activities related to assessment and examinations within the School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences. You will be expected to work closely with the Assessment Support Officer, as well as with Subject Exam Board Chairs, and the Teaching and Learning Services Team.

The post-holder will assist in developing, maintaining and monitoring systems within the School for the scrutiny of examination papers (including reviewing and editing papers to ensure they meet the required standards) and ensuring that central deadlines are met. As well as ensuring that assessments are appropriately recorded in the School’s Virtual Learning Environment (QMPlus).

Candidates for this role should have a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade A-C including English and Maths, administrative experience working within Higher Education or a similar environment, excellent attention to detail and experience of acting as a Secretary to Committees. You will have the ability to work well under pressure and have a willingness to be flexible on hours of work during key periods. Experience of the administration associated with examination would be highly desirable.

The School of Biological & Behavioural Sciences (SBBS) is one of five Schools in the Faculty of Science and Engineering. It is one of the largest Schools at Queen Mary University of London, with approximately 1800 students and c100 academic staff members, who carry out excellent education, research and public engagement activities, with support from 32 administrative staff and 26 technical staff.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is full-time and fixed term for a period of 12 months, with an expected start date of 1st October 2022. The salary will be Grade 3, in the range of £29,082 – £35,775 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
