| Job Description: | CARE Administration & Management • Assists Associate Dean and director with long-term management and strategic alignment of CARE through oversight of Medical Petitions Process, the development of policies and procedures and CARE education and outreach. • Works with Assistant Dean to ensure goals and objectives for CARE are developed, communicated and achieved through assessment functions. • Supports the development and maintenance of documentation of program functions and assessment. • Supervises Medical Petition Coordinator. • Oversees day-to-day operations of Dean of Students Office Front Desk. • Collaborates across various student assistance programs to coordinate guidance and support for students experiencing distress that impacts their academic experience. • Supports functions as the Assistant Dean and Director in his/her absence. Case Management Services Oversight • Supervises Case Managers. Assigns incoming student referrals to Case Managers. • Ensures case management functions adhere to industry best practices, develops and maintains assessment functions. • Supports case tracking and monitoring to demonstrate the impact of the Case Management Services on student success. • Guides case discussion in Case Management meetings and collaboration with campus partners. • Monitors successful interventions of case management services. Dean of Students Office & Strategic Partner Support • Serves as a member of Divisional on-call rotation for responding to urgent Care Concerns and as “Emergency Dean on Call. • As part of Dean of Students Office leadership team, assists with DSO formulation of policies and procedures, special projects or initiatives as identified by the Dean of Students or the position supervisor. • Collaborates with Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution to support students. • Establishes, upholds and enhances outreach protocol to assist Dean of Students and Assistant Deans with situations monitored by the Behavioral Consultation Team. • Works with BCT to identify students of concern to determine appropriate interventions. Case Management Services Delivery • Provides outreach to students who are referred to the Dean of Students Office by concerned University community members or families. • Consults and collaborates with campus partners and families as needed to support students in distress by helping them establish action plans. • Handles confidential information in a sensitive manner and uses sound judgment in responding to crisis situations. • Participates in evening and weekend work rotation with Care Area staff members. Contributes to the Dean of Students Office (DSO), Division of Student Life, and University of Florida through active participation on committees, department initiatives, and division-wide initiatives (example opportunities: emergency dean on call, event support team, conduct committee, student welcome events, etc.). Performs other duties as assigned by Dean, Associate Dean, Assistant Dean, or other appropriate administrator. |
| Expected Salary: |
$62,000-$65,000 |
| Minimum Requirements: |
Master’s degree and four (4) years of appropriate experience or a bachelor’s degree and six (6) years of experience. |
| Preferred Qualifications: | • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, student affairs, higher education, or related field and six (6) years of experience or Bachelor’s degree in a related field and eight (8) years of experience. • Three (3) years or more of experience in higher education managing student crisis and providing direct service to students in distress. • Evidence of successfully working with students, their parents/families, faculty, and staff. • A demonstrated proactive, collaborative, timely, effective, and compassionate work style. • Proficiency with Maxient and/or CRM Platforms. • Two years of experience managing crises and providing direct service to those in distress, with evidence of successfully working with a variety of campus or community resources. |
