Job Duties
| Duties & Responsibilities | Uses American Sign Language (ASL) to ensure proper interpretation for a variety of academic or technical subject areas and builds a knowledge base of subject matter. Effectively, accurately, and impartially conveys the thought, intent, and spirit of a speaker to deaf and hard of-hearing individuals, and vice versa. Interprets both receptively and expressively between spoken English and ASL. Attends advising sessions, classes, labs, faculty/student conferences, tutoring sessions, and other authorized college-related activities in which an ASL interpreter is needed. Maintains professional and ethical standards regarding the privacy of students and the confidentiality of information exchanged in interpreting situations. |

| Duties & Responsibilities | Provides administrative support to the Instructor/Coordinator of the ASL and Deaf Studies program and to other full-time and part-time instructors. Assists with coordinating tutoring and staffing language lab. Serves as the representative of the program to students, faculty, and staff. |

| Duties & Responsibilities | Answers phones, directs calls and emails, serves as a liaison between the ASL program and campus student support services. Assist with scheduling and student recruitment activities. |
