Job Summary Financial Systems & Processes is a unit of Financial Services. This unit provides end-user support to Financial Services (including Procurement, Printing Services, Investments, and Student Accounts), along with ensuring the integrity of the financial data, developing, and running reports for Financial Services staff, implementing IT functionality that affects Financial Services and campus and involved in process improvement projects using various software tools (Cognos, SharePoint, etc.). The Applications Administrator and Analyst will be responsible for managing key applications or platforms as assigned by the department and supporting the underlying business processes by engaging with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external to Financial Services.
Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for configuring and maintaining the module, application, or platform in the desired state, making modifications to application parameters, settings, workflows, interfaces, as required.
  • Works with the Enterprise Application Services group within ITS to troubleshoot issues related to the assigned module, application, or platform.
  • Responsible for planning and executing upgrades and patches to the module, application, or platform.
  • Provides business analysis services as required by the department. This could be related to the module, application, or platform that the incumbent is responsible for or in any other area within Financial Services. Liaises with other members of the Financial Systems and Processes team to implement solutions.
  • Prepares project related documentation such as a business case, functional requirements, detailed test plans, presentations, process and/or data models, data analysis.
  • Ensures training is provided to end users and creates documentation to support users with the module, application, or platform.
Note The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.
Required Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in computer science/information systems, with three to five years’ experience in a financial services environment covering both operational and IT support duties (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Strong customer focus; service-oriented attitude.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, etc.).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; time management, multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate practical troubleshooting, problem solving skills and prioritize tasks.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work quickly and independently with minimal supervision.
Assets
  • Experience working with the following software would be considered an asset: Reporting tools, such as Cognos, SharePoint, Banner and Application Xtender, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Access.
  • Experience in quality assurance testing of software.
  • Familiarity with accounting or finance.
