Introduction:
As the Application Administrator you will be a Subject Matter Expert providing user support and administration of the Microsoft Project Online tool to assist IT Project Managers and teams to effectively plan projects track status manage capacity and track and allocate resources.
Project Background :
This is for an ongoing support project for Project Online and Project and Program Management P2M applications / systems.
Project Scope:
Ongoing application support technical and functional for Project Online and P2M applications.
Work on work orders tasks and incidents received via Remedy.
Run and review various project reports for IT and Business leadership to review.
Act as the QA for developing new features and functionalities in P2M and Project Online applications.
Tasks sections contain more detailed information.
Project Objectives:
Ensure Project Online and P2M applications are well supported and within the agreed upon SLAs.
Assist other team members IT and Business Project Managers in effectively plan projects track status manage capacity and track and allocate resources.
Primary duties include:
Respond to user requests for services and assists in resolving technical and functional problems that are received through Remedy work orders e-mails and phone calls interfaces with the external service provider on 3rd level support issues.
Initiate and closes projects in Project Online by performing duties such as collecting and filing data setting up and revising budget and billing information enforcing threshold levels correcting data and ensuring processes are adhered to.
Provide technical information to Project Online users including designing and delivering classroom training and Lunch-and-Learn sessions providing one- on-one coaching and mentoring updating the IT Project Management Information Systems PMIS website with training materials and Frequently Asked Questions FAQs and administering and updating the PMIS SharePoint site.
Conduct analysis of statistical data and metrics to identify emerging issues and problems and quality assurance reports to verify accuracy of data review reports for anomalies or variations generates reports and resolves discrepancies.
Top Skills Details
Two (2) years’ experience in designing, implementation, performing upgrades, troubleshooting and documenting infrastructure solutions as per attached The City of Calgary Technical Environment and List of Applications.
A degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline with at least 4 years of related experience, at least 2 of which are using a Project Portfolio Management (PPM) solution; OR
A completed 2-year technical diploma from a recognized education institution with at least 8 years of related experience, of which at least 4 are using a PPM solution.
Three (3) years’ experience with Project Management, SQL, programming, Microsoft Project Online or Project Server Administration, project management tools and processes and best practices are considered assets.
Three (3) years’ experience with Share Point Management and Application Support are considered assets
Additional Skills & Qualifications
a. Strong customer service skills;
b. Solid analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy; and
c. Strong communication skills (listening, written communication, and verbal communication).
Proficiency in documenting requirements and documenting As-Built solutions;
Previous work experience in the public sector or large organizations;
Demonstrated educational training and work experience background to a specific or defined specialization such as those listed as per The City of Calgary Technical Environment and List of Applications; and
Applicable vendor specialization certification as per The City of Calgary Technical Environment and List of Applications (example: MCSE, MCSA, etc.)
PMI certification, business analyst courses such as Gathering and Documenting Requirements, Process and Workflow Modeling and Project Management Basics are considered assets.

The pay range for this position is $65.00 – $65.00
