CSIRO’s Space and Astronomy business unit (S&A), provides facilities from Australia and around the world to explore our solar system and beyond. S&A’s Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex (CDSCC) supports ground-based spacecraft telecommunications as part of NASA’s Deep Space Network (DSN).
As part of the Antenna support team at the CDSCC, you will undertake installation works and maintenance tasks, including modifications and fault repair of antenna mechanical and structural systems, and site support services. This may also include servicing in the mobile plant and powerhouse environments. You will undertake these activities with varying levels of responsibility, along with project management, configuration management and technical planning, quality assurance/predictive testing and inspections.
The position requires a level of fitness to enable working at heights up to 70m, and scaling large antennas including up to 20 flights of stairs.
