Annual Giving Officer

The University of New Brunswick Fredericton welcomes applications for the position of Annual Giving Officer with Development & Donor Relations. This is a 2-year term, full-time (36.25 hours per week) position with the APT employee group. The position is funded by the University Budget with a salary range of $48,320-$61,805 per annum.

The office of Development and Donor Relations (DDR) is a unit within Advancement, responsible for the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of private donations made to UNB. Within this unit, philanthropy programs is responsible for the Annual Giving program. This program is responsible for the design, development, and management of an annual fundraising strategy including focused solicitation strategies, such as phone solicitation with a goal of securing annual philanthropic support for UNB.

Position Summary:

• Manage student telethons. Hire, and train student fund-raisers and the continue to provide on-going supervision, coaching and mentoring to the team of students.
• Develop prospect lists, scripts, progress reports and maintain the operation of the software and hardware used by the phone solicitation program.
• Develop special affinity appeals and group giving fundraising campaigns.
• Work directly with UNB community such as alumni volunteers/donors, deans, department directors and other university leadership as campaigns are identified and developed.
• Engage, other staff in the philanthropy unit to meet the scope of the campaign
• Communicate and meet with donors to ensure they make their annual gift of $1,000 or more and receive appropriate stewardship for their support.

Requirements/Skills:

• A university degree or a background in a related professional field which may include client/business development, non-profit management, sales or marketing.
• A minimum of three years fundraising experience, with a preference for telephone solicitation experience.
• The ability to travel within New Brunswick with a valid driver’s license.
• Willing to work non-traditional hours.
• Demonstrate excellent computer skills, with high proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working with fundraising software would be an asset.
