The Role

  • Continuing, Full Time or job share considered
  • Level 8 – $102,582 to $116,115 pa (plus 17% superannuation)
  • Wagga Wagga

Tired of working on your feet all day or had enough of being on-call during weekends and evenings? Do you need a change but want to stay within the veterinary industry?

In this exciting and rewarding role, you will provide high quality advice and support, technical expertise and compliance and policy guidance on matters relating to animal care, welfare and usage in teaching and research at Charles Sturt University. You will serve as the University’s primary stakeholder adviser and animal advocate in relation to matters of animal welfare.

The role is to ensure the University meets the standards, guidelines and regulations to ensure the principles of animal ethics are fulfilled and the standards of care and use of animals in teaching and research are continually improved.

This role may be suitable for a hybrid working arrangement however due to the nature of the work the majority of the role must be completed from the Wagga Wagga campus. 

To be successful you will have:

  • A degree in veterinary science or postgraduate qualifications in animal behaviour and welfare with relevant graduate experience
  • Understanding of the regulatory framework and ethics involved in the care and use of animals in teaching and research
  • Problem solving skills and ability to use initiative
  • Ability to develop and implement written instructional materials or organisational policy
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships

The Research Integrity Unit, within the Office of the PVC R&I, promotes and enables the responsible conduct of research and teaching at Charles Sturt University. The Unit provides advice on all aspects of research ethics and integrity.
