Veterinary Assistant or Animal Care Attendant

Location: Scarborough, ON

Toronto Veterinary Emergency Hospital is a busy emergency and referral hospital that is currently looking for Animal Care Attendants to join our Referral Hospital. This full-time opportunity includes a range of responsibilities that directly attributes to the efficient and effective daily operation of the hospital.

Duties include:

• Assist Doctors and RVTs with appointments & procedures, including surgery

• Patient care: walking, feeding, and assisting the RVTs with restraint for procedures (including IV catheter placement, radiographs and surgical procedures)

• Excellent customer service skills; a positive attitude and the ability for putting pets and pet parents at ease

• General housekeeping duties; pet holding areas, surgical suites/treatment areas, and common areas

• Willingness to learn and take on additional duties as needed

• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations

• Ability to maintain our high standard of care for patients

• Ability to prioritize and having a team focus

• Animal handling experience
