Hiring Unit:
Department of Biology (Prof. S. Reader)
Position Summary:

  • Primary responsibility is to care of live freshwater fish in the Reader Lab;
  • Feeding; cleaning tanks; water tests and other related tasks;
  • Other duties may include assistance with studies of social behaviour (behavioural observations and experiments, coding of videos, data entry, etc.) and behavioural neuroscience (histology, sample preparation, etc.) and other similar duties;

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

Must enjoy working with live animals and have an interest in animal behaviour;

Organized, reliable, independent person with close attention to detail; Available to work on weekdays and weekends; Training will be provided in fish care.

Experience and education: Academic background in biology, neuroscience, and/or psychology preferred, thus position is open to Faculty of Science students only.

Note likely hours per person will be around 10h/week. Position ONLY OPEN TO MCGILL WORK-STUDY STUDENTS IN THE FACULTY OF SCIENCE. Rolling deadline:
