Job title:

Analytical Chemistry Research Lead

Company

Everest Carbon

Job description

Intro We at Everest Carbon believe that geochemical carbon dioxide removal (gCDR) has the potential to become humanity´s most effective CDR pathway. Our business is developing cutting-edge technologies that enable the time- and cost-effective quantification of high-quality carbon removals. Join us as an Analytical Chemistry Lead and embark on a mission to revolutionize gCDR at scale. Tasks Collaborate with a team of talented scientists and engineers to conceive innovative approaches to quantifying gCDR and find new ways of addressing longstanding challenges in geochemical measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV). Formulate new, standard-setting analytical procedures, contributing to the global conversation on climate solutions. Instruct team members on and carry out analytical chemistry routines at the highest quality, including statistical analysis of the results. Prototype novel technologies, from physical devices to measurement procedures, that enable validation of new MRV paradigms in commercial settings. Actively be involved in establishing our R&D space in Austria with the opportunity of building out our team and becoming lab head. Leave a lasting mark on gCDR, catalyzing gigaton-scale negative emissions. Requirements MSc or PhD degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. Expertise in analytical chemistry, ideally with relevance to wet-chemical and geochemical contexts. Experience conducting independent research and developing effective solutions to measurement challenges. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple work streams simultaneously. Team-player mentality. Benefits Competitive pay (€50,000-75,000 annual gross salary for full-time position) based on experience and expertise, with additional overpay possible. Potential for stock options to give you participation in the companies’ long-term success. Extensive benefits package (PTO, healthcare, retirement funds). A supportive company culture focused on climate impact as a team. Comprehensive onboarding services to help you set up well in Linz, Austria. A stellar team of individuals who support each other to grow as humans and climate change-makers. Closing Join Our Mission We’re a venture-backed, revenue-generating, and ambitious global team working on what we see as the most promising pathway towards large-scale negative emissions. Our mission is to directly be involved in 1 billion tons of CO2 removed per year by 2035 through our products and services. We Would Love to Hear From You We understand that you might not fit all of the requirements above perfectly. We envision our team to be as diverse as the solutions that will solve the climate crisis. Forming a compassionate workplace is a core part of our culture – including all walks of life, experiences, and perspectives. Candidates from structurally underrepresented cultures and backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply. Apply Now If you’re ready to leverage your extensive experience to make a substantial impact on climate change, apply today. Together, we can drive innovation in carbon removal and play a pivotal role in addressing one of the world’s most pressing challenges.
