Responsibilities:
Organizing and maintaining the function of the Alaska cache
Manages the inventory, maintenance, and flow of assets in the cache
Repair and/or replace broken/damaged gear, equipment and tools
Manage vehicle fleet needs: Prepare vehicles for programs to use, cleaning and taking in for routine maintenance
Oversee the food program for all Alaska based teams
Create meal plan system
Purchase food
Set up a space to handle food safely
Collaborate with program coordinators to organize resupplies for teams in the field
Completes general administrative tasks as assigned
Supports elements of program trainings and work skills trainings
Maintain a clean space with functional gear and equipment
Maintain current knowledge of SCA Alaska programs
Represent a positive and professional image of SCA
Understand and follow all policies and procedures as outlined in the SCA Employee Handbook and the Field Guide
Foster an environment that promotes teamwork between SCA leaders, members and staff
Other duties as assigned
High school degree or equivalent
Must be at least 21 years old
Experience with field-based programming and cooking meals in a field camp
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Ability to work independently, take initiative and follow through and as part of a remote, highly mobile, and fast-paced team
Strong computer skills particularly in Microsoft office suite of programs: Outlook, Teams; Salesforce
Experience with field-based programming
Capable of lifting 40 pounds
Valid Drivers license and driving record within SCA guidelines
Must pass SCA criminal background check
While performing this job, it will require: 40+ hours/week. May include work on nights and weekends. May include some travel during the field season. Employment Conditions:
Beginning on 1/18/22, all new SCA program participants are required to provide proof of up to date vaccination against COVID-19. Per CDC guidance, up to date vaccination now includes all recommended COVID-19 vaccines, including any booster dose(s) when indicated. For example, if someone has completed the primary series but is not yet indicated for a booster shot, they are considered up to date. Once a person is indicated for a booster (6 months after Pfizer or Moderna primary series, 2 months after J&J primary series), full and up-to-date vaccination includes the completed booster shot.
