Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary The College of Agriculture at Auburn University is seeking applications for the position of Professor of Practice in Agricultural Communications and Leadership. This is a full-time, twelve-month, Professor of Practice, non-tenure track faculty position with 75% teaching appointment 25% administrative appointment. Full-time positions are eligible for benefits, including health insurance. The expected start date for this position is May 16, 2023.
Responsibilities: This position will oversee the B.S. in Agricultural Communications program and will also contribute as a writer and editor for the college’s Communications and Marketing Office. As program leader for the B.S. in Agricultural Communications, the person in this position will teach Agricultural Communications and Leadership courses, serve as internship coordinator, prepare annual academic program assessment reports, and oversee Agricultural Communications student groups and publications. As a contributor and editor for the college’s Communications and Marketing Office, this person will contribute articles to The Season Magazine highlighting faculty research. They will also contribute content to AU Office of Communications and Marketing and other media outlets as appropriate. The individual will also oversee the minor in Agricultural Leadership.
Minimum Qualifications Minimum qualifications include an earned Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Agricultural Communications, Agricultural Leadership, Agriscience Education, Agricultural Science, History, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related discipline at time appointment begins. Successful candidates should have experience communicating agricultural research results to broad audiences. The candidate must have strong communication, presentation, interpersonal and organizational skills. The incumbent must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the term of employment.
Desired Qualifications Desired qualifications include an earned Ph.D. from an accredited institution in Agricultural Communications, Agricultural Leadership, Agriscience Education, Agricultural Science, History, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related discipline and experience teaching in Agricultural Communications and Leadership.
