About the Portfolio 

The newly formed Experience Organisation in RMIT, part of the Operations portfolio, is established to create great experiences and journeys for our Students, Researchers and Industry Partners. A key component of these journeys and experiences is delivered via our digital platforms. The digital experiences however need to seamlessly integrate with on campus or staff assisted activities of our Students, Researchers and Industry Partners.

Digital enablement and digital transformation are of increasing importance to the research, teaching and learning life of a university, particularly a ‘global university of technology and design’ like RMIT.

About the position 

The role of an AEM Platform Architect is critical to the University’s online presence by playing a key role in providing architectural vision, digital strategy and innovations using Adobe Experience Manager and other associated capabilities with the Adobe Experience Cloud.

In this role, you will work closely with Product Owners, delivery, and support teams to provide technology direction & thought leadership producing high quality solution design, efficient technical implementations that resonate perfectly with our business needs while adhering to best practices, reduced customizations, and increased optimizations.

You will also take ownership of the entire technology platform built on AEM in co-ordination with Environment Manager, system administrators, technical leads and AEM Release Manager to establish and maintain code quality standards, platform health, performance, impact assessment guidelines and overall technical governance for the AEM platform.

About you 

  • Trusted and respected as a technical thought leader who can influence and persuade business, delivery, and operational teams.

  • Comfortable, experienced, and accomplished at working with business leaders (product owners, Tribe leaders etc), and able to push back in a professional and diplomatic way

  • Highly collaborative and very comfortable working in agile delivery organisations.

  • Vendor- and technology-neutral — more interested in business outcomes and platform health with the best fit and value within the available digital platforms.

  • Strong technical expertise of the Adobe Experience Manager and other Adobe Experience Cloud capabilities such as Target, Analytics etc. along with knowledge on key infrastructure elements such as Networking, Domain Management and Cyber Security

  • Experience working with supporting products and platforms such as Sonar, Selenium, Application Monitoring tools such as New Relic / Dynatrace / AppDynamics, Splunk, Logstash and Docker

  • Preferably hold an Adobe certification as an AEM Architect along with any other relevant vendor certifications.
