- Lead and drive strategy development of the chemicals business segment including creation and monitoring of implementation plan incl. measures, milestones and KPI´s for mid- long-term targets and ensure alignment with Corporate Strategy, adjacent stakeholders and Chemicals Business functions.
- Strategic analysis development to support Vice President of Strategy and Markets as well as segment leadership team.
- Lead complex strategic projects in the Chemicals segment, across departments and businesses in close alignment with Corporate Functions such as Sustainability, Finance, Investor Relations and Corporate Strategy.
- Support Chemicals M&A and post-merger integration projects.
- Identify and develop business and innovation opportunities for the Chemicals segment in close collaboration with Group Innovation and Technology and ensure appropriate funding of initiatives.
- Manage opportunity pipeline for Chemicals aiming for decision via assessment and business case development.
- Support project approval processes (Capex and M&A) in close alignment with project owner.
- Develop a Chemical Competitor Intelligence portfolio based on deep understanding of competitors strategic relevance for OMV Chemicals and develop and maintain company profiles.
- Manage intelligence of current and future markets, and global application industries that are strategically relevant for Chemicals segment as well as understand and articulate sustainable regulatory framework of strategic relevance.
- Collaborate and exchange closely with Corporate Strategy team.
Your profile
- You have a master´s degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering (PhD preferred) or Business and experience in various technology, business, and strategy functions.
- You have minimum of 12 years of relevant professional experience within the chemical industry (commodities and specialties), 2 years+ international experience and are familiar with business plan development and P&L. Knowledge of M&A and venture capital projects is an advantage.
- Independent and driven working style with a can-do attitude that gets things done. Ability to cope with uncertainties and flexibility to adapt to new situations in a transforming world.
- Blends in well into divers teams and easily collaborates with people of various functional and educational backgrounds at any hierarchy level.
- Fluent in English, German is an asset. Excellent communication visualization and presentation skills with the ability to convince internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical skills as well as strategy and business acumen.
